Dorothy Wainwright started Wainwright Real Estate out of her home in 1951.
In 1954 Dorothy and her husband Bob opened the first Wainwright Real Estate office at 26th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach.
Their son Bob Jr. joined in 1968. Bob III joined in 1995.
Wainwright Real Estate is the second oldest real estate company in Virginia Beach. They're the 6th largest firm by sales volume out of more than 400 and have more agents than any other real estate company in Hampton Roads, over 800. Last year they did over 2500 real estate transactions.
In their Virginia Beach office, Bob Wainwright employs two full time attorneys who go over every contract from signing to closing. This is unique in Hampton Roads and as a result, Wainwright Real Estate has enjoyed a spotless legal record for the last 56 years.
